I have almost no capacity to stay mad at someone who is not actively being a dick. So I could take Christie’s side in a second, if only he would stop being a dick. The problem is that he never does stop being a dick—at least, as long as he’s talking. He’s just impossible to like. Springsteen, on the other hand, is the kind of guy I’d love to hate. I certainly hate the way people (like Christie) deify him. But he’s impossible not to like. And he’s very smart, as can been seen by his avoidance the evil and petty Governor Yells-At-People.
