The Iraq War Was a Major Success — For Some

Cenk UygurHere’s the thing we always misunderstand: we always think that the Iraq War was a disaster — it was a failure.

No it wasn’t. It was declared by (in essence) Dick Cheney, who was, by all accounts, running the country from 2001 to 2006. And Bush, for better or for worse, took charge in the last two years. And believe it or not, it was slightly better than the Cheney years.

Now Cheney, who used to work for Halliburton and got a $34 million exit bonus from them, started a war where Halliburton’s stock price went up five fold during the war.

Mission accomplished!
