The last song on Jesse Ferguson’s 2013 album, Shift, is “Zombie Love.” It’s kind of serious at the same time that it is totally silly. I mean, it’s a straight love song. But it is told from the perspective of a zombie. And it includes this wonderful refrain:
I may be dead
But my life began
The day that I bit you.
The video itself shows a playful side of Ferguson that we don’t usually see because the focus is on his gorgeous music. I really wish that I had known about this song for Halloween. I’ll have to remember next year to do a week of Halloween songs — and definitely include this one. Give it a listen. It’s really wonderful.
The title alone was enough to remind me of this song by another talented and fun guy, Jonathan Coulton – RE: Your Brains

If you’re not already familiar with Jonathan, he became internet famous with the song Code Monkey. That and a few other songs with very geeky subjects have established him as the geek troubadour. Among which are the theme songs for the video games Portal and Portal 2 – ‘Still Alive’ and ‘Want You Gone’.
Thanks! I’m not familiar with him. This song is great! They are reasonable. Of course, who wants to eat eyes? I’ll check out more of his work.
BTE – another thing about Jonathan Coulton. He releases all his songs under GPL. As a result you’ll find hundreds of videos based on them. People around the word create videos with animation, live action, dances or whatever else they can imagine.
He also has a gig as a regular part of NPR’s radio game show: Ask Me Another.

Oy… 2 typos in a short post. That’s one of the reasons I’m not a blogger.
